    In the early 1900\u2019s the government was giving away farm land on the Canadian prairies to encourage settlement. Many people from around the world immigrated to the region to take advantage of this opportunity including some of the Mossing family. They helped to establish and shape their southern Saskatchewan farming community, contributing their devotion to the church and their love of music. Having not visited the area since my grandparents moved away, my wife and I decided to take a day
    trip to see what remained of what their lives used to be. A few years later I looked back at the photos
    we took and reflected upon the places we visited along with the memories of the family that lived there. This inspired me to pay homage to these people and their story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Special thanks to Jean-Michel, Ira, and Jim for all of your passion and creativity that helped make this music go beyond where I could have ever imagined. Thanks to my good friend Paul Johnston for taking on this project and bringing not only his exquisite sonic capturing talents, but his musicianship and willingness to help me get this off the ground. Thanks to my parents for all of your support over the years, and for passing on the talents and traditions of the Homesteaders to your children. And lastly
    to my own little family; my girls are always in my heart and are a constant source of inspiration.
    This labour of love took a lot of time, energy and thought and would never have happened without the loving support of my wife. Thank you, Val, for affording me the time and space to make this happen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 1900, le gouvernement c\u00e9dait des terres agricoles dans les prairies canadiennes pour encourager la colonisation. De nombreuses personnes du monde entier ont immigr\u00e9 dans la r\u00e9gion pour profiter de cette opportunit\u00e9, y compris certains membres de la famille Mossing. Ils ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00e9tablir et \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner leur communaut\u00e9 agricole du sud de la Saskatchewan, apportant leur d\u00e9vouement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9glise et leur amour de la musique. N\u2019ayant pas visit\u00e9 la r\u00e9gion depuis que mes grands-parents ont d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9, ma femme et moi avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire une excursion d\u2019une journ\u00e9e pour voir ce qui restait de leurs vies ant\u00e9rieures. Quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, j\u2019ai regard\u00e9 les photos que nous avions prises et r\u00e9fl\u00e9chi aux endroits que nous avons visit\u00e9s ainsi qu\u2019aux souvenirs de la famille qui y a v\u00e9cu. Cela m\u2019a inspir\u00e9 \u00e0 rendre hommage \u00e0 ces personnes et \u00e0 leur histoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Un grand merci \u00e0 Jean-Michel, Ira et Jim pour votre passion et votre cr\u00e9ativit\u00e9 qui ont aid\u00e9 cette musique \u00e0 aller au-del\u00e0 de ce que j\u2019aurais pu imaginer. Merci \u00e0 mon bon ami Paul Johnston d\u2019avoir pris en charge ce projet et d\u2019apporter non seulement ses talents exquis de capture sonore, mais aussi sa musicalit\u00e9 et sa volont\u00e9 de m\u2019aider \u00e0 faire d\u00e9coller cela.
