MALLORY CHIPMAN
Revered for her “rich, expressive voice” and hailed as “an old school jazz chanteuse with new school attitude” (GigCity.ca), Mallory Chipman is taking the jazz scene by storm with her thoughtful compositions, fearless improvisation, and unforgettable performances. Based in Edmonton, Canada, Mallory has spent years cultivating her own unique sound: one that marries the modern and the traditional; pulling from gritty rock roots and contemporary ECM sounds, while simultaneously showcasing her love of bebop and modal jazz.
Highlights from her career include performing with artists such as PJ Perry, Tommy Banks, and John Stetch; opening for renowned jazz singer, Madeleine Peyroux; touring through Canada and abroad to Europe; singing back-up for Roy Orbison’s In Dreams hologram concert, and for the legendary rock group, Heart during their Rockin’ Heaven tour; and playing sold out shows in jazz festivals and clubs from Edmonton to as far away as the United Kingdom.
